Ritchie also custom manufactures innovative automated systems such as ARBIS (Automated Return Bend Insertion System), a unique robotic work cell designed for the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. ARBIS’s primary task is the insertion of return bends into condensing coil copper tubes.
Return bend insertion has always been a labor-intensive manual task. Typical AC manufacturer may have 20 or more coil configurations, ranging in size from perhaps 10 to 40 inches, and populated with 4 or more different types of return bends.
